When creating your account or looking at the Account Settings screen you may have noticed a field called "Signup Type." Present.ly allows you to control access to your network in a variety of ways, giving you maximum flexibility and power to grow your account in a way that suits you.

There are four signup types: Closed (default), Domain,Access Code, and Open. Each one provides different levels of protection for creating new users on your Present.ly account.
This is the default option that all accounts are set to. With a Closed signup type, only people who are directly invited by an administrator are allowed to signup. This means that no one will be able to gain access to your account without a direct e-mail invitation. This is the most secure form of signup.
The Domain signup type allows anyone who can verify an e-mail address on a specified domain to sign up for the account. If you select this type, you will be asked to specify one or more domains to allow. This gives you flexibility to extend access to your colleagues in different countries or under a different department. For example, you could fill the field with:
mydomain.com, mydomain.co.uk
And anyone who had an e-mail address such as bob@mydomain.com or susan@mydomain.co.ukwould be able to sign up for an account by visiting your account's subdomain.
The Access Code signup type will allow anyone who knows a secret access code to create an account. This is a great solution for conferences and other events where you can easily disseminate the information to lots of people. However, it is also less secure than the Closed and Domain signup types because anyone who knows the code can create an account. Please note that the access code is case sensitive.
The Open signup type allows any number of users to sign up completely openly. This is the least secure method of signup as anyone who makes their way to your account's subdomain will be able to create account and read updates.
We hope that the variety of signup options available to you makes it easy to find the right level of security and usefulness for your organization.
